Northwest United Baptist Church (1609 Big Lots Road) invites you to join them for their 209th Anniversary celebration today at 3:00 pm. Guest speaker will be Pastor Joe Green with Special music by The Rusty Nails (from Aenon Baptist Church, Chester Basin), the Northwest choir and Sunday School chimes. A social time and refreshments will follow the service.
The Bridgewater Fire Department Band presents Armistice, a concert in remembrance of the First World War tonight at 7:00 pm here at Bridgewater Baptist Church. Admission by donation, all are welcome.
Baptist Women’s Day of Prayer is on November 5th at 10:30 am here at the church, with light refreshments to follow. Everyone welcome.
The Annual Gideon Banquet is on November 8th at our church at 6:30 pm. Today is the last day to purchase your tickets. Special guest will be Sandy Hood and musical guest is Sheppard’s Joy. Evelyn Kenney WMS will be meeting in the Garden Room at Drumlin Hills on November 8th at 2:30 pm. All members are urged to attend a very important meeting of our group.
A Gospel Concert featuring The Sound of Men, is happening at 7:00 pm on Friday, November 9th at the Middlewood United Church. Everyone welcome.
Tim & The Glory Boys will be in concert here at Bridgewater Baptist on Saturday November 10th at 7:00 pm. Advanced Tickets are available at Bridgewater Pharmasave for $15.00 per ticket and on their website at www.timandthegloryboys.com or $20.00 at the door.
The Salvation Army are in need of volunteers to help oversee their Christmas Kettles again this year. They will be starting on Friday November 16th and will run to December 22nd six days per week, Monday to Saturday from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm and on December 17th to the 22nd from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. The shifts are two hours each. Please contact The Salvation Army at 902-543-0356 if you are able to help with this very important ministry.
Hillside Pines Auxiliary will be holding their annual Christmas Luncheon on November 22nd. Price is $10.00 and there will be two sittings. The first is at 11:30 am and the second is at 12:30 pm. Keenager’s Luncheon – November 24th at 12:00 pm at Drumlin Hills. This month’s Speaker is Jackie Eisener and music is being provided by Judy & Paul Robar. Cost is $10.50 and the sign-up sheet is in the foyer..
A new Photo Directory is in the works. Photo sessions started this week and will continue on into next week. December 5th, 6th, & 7th are new dates that have been made available as the other slots filled in quickly. Universal Portrait Studios have been making calls to arrange your appointment time. If you’re not currently listed in our annual Church Directory or do not receive a call but would like to be included in this new Directory, please call the office and we can add you to our database. November’s Food Bank Request is sweet pickles. These are for the Christmas food hampers, so we are aiming for 150 jars.
There will be no Pickleball on Wednesday November 7th.
The Gideon’s Dinner – there are still several items needed for the dinner. Please see the sign-up sheet in the foyer if you can help with any of the remaining items that are needed.
Aprons – We have misplaced two of the navy aprons with BBC embroidered on them. If you know where they are, please let someone on the Kitchen Committee know.
6 Billets are needed for the Teen Challenge group for the night of November 24th and breakfast on the 25th. Please let the office know if you can help.
Like Father Like Son is a book about the person who started Harvest House. We have several free copies available at the Welcome Desk in the foyer.
Someone in our faith community is in need of winter tires sized 215/65/R17. If you have some in good shape or are able to help, please contact the church office.
There will be a late Christmas Hamper registration on Thursday, November 8th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Salvation Army Church, 116 Pleasant Street in Bridgewater. This will be for families as well as singles and couples without children. Please make sure you bring up to date health cards as well as verification of income and expenses for all members of the household. Due to time and staffing, we will not be holding any further registration dates.
Long Lake Camp has reset their camp cleanup to happen on Wednesday, November 14th, starting at 9:00 am. Many hands make for light work so please come lend a hand if you’re free.
Our Annual Christmas Craft & Bake Sale is coming up on November 17th. We will be looking for contributions of your yummy baked goods. There will be more information next Sunday. We also have extra posters if you have a spot to pin one up at work, etc. and handouts are available in the foyer as well. Please pick some up and pass them out to your friends. CE&A Committee is planning a time of games & crafts from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 25th. Bring a BOARD GAME or CRAFT PROJECT to church that day and plan to stay after the potluck for some fun. Good for everyone to enjoy.
The CE&A Committee hopes to have a CHRISTMAS VARIETY CONCERT on Sunday December 9th from 3:00 pm to 4.30 pm. ALL Groups, Boards, and Committees are invited to contribute a short act of approximately 3 to 10 mins. Children and Youth performances are particularly welcome this year. We hope some individuals or families will also consider this. Remember last year’s concert was very enjoyable. Ideas include singing, reading, recitation, joke telling, skits, videos, and instrumentals. Items can be serious or funny. Caregiver & Tot Time has started here at Bridgewater Baptist church on Thursday mornings from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. It is be open to all caregivers and their children from age 0 to 4 years. This is a casual time for caregivers to chat while the children play. Coffee, tea and muffins will be provided for adults. Milk, water and healthy snacks will be provided for the children.
