A new Photo Directory is being printed this year. Photos will be taken on November 2nd-3rd and 6th-10th. You will receive a call from Universal Portrait Studios after October 15th to arrange your appointment time. We need everyone in our fellowship to participate in order to make this a success. If you’re not currently listed in our annual Church Directory or do not receive a call but would like to be included in this new Photo Directory, please call the office and we can add you to our database.

Christmas Cantata 2018 – this year, the choir will be presenting a Christmas Cantata compiled and composed by Donna Rhodenizer.  We invite all singers who would like to join our regular members – we will be practicing Tuesday nights from 7:45 pm to 8:30 pm starting on Tuesday, October 9th.  Please come join us to be part of this special cantata.

October’s Food Bank Requests are juice packs, granola bars, pudding cups and fruit cups.

The Board of Trustees would like to move forward with some basic landscaping by installing new landscape fabric around the building with a combination of mulch and rock installed over it. This first step has an estimated cost of $3000.00.  If anyone wishes to make a donation towards this project, please mark your envelope “Landscaping”. Any additional funds donated over the $3,000.00 will be used to purchase bushes.

The Lawrencetown Male Choir will be singing at the Chelsea United Baptist Church tonight at 6:30 pm, all are welcome.

Our Health Centre in Chester is hosting an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) workshop on October 15th and 16th from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm both days. The Lunenburg Community Health Board has graciously sponsored this workshop, so it is free to those who live or work in Lunenburg County. Please check the Information Centre for more details.

There will be a Movie Night on Wednesday, October 17th at Wesley United Church Hall, 22 Drew’s Hill, Petite Riviere. The movie is called, “I Can Only Imagine”. Doors open at 6:00 pm, show time is at 6:30 pm. There will be popcorn and cold refreshments, admission is Free.

Christian Book Club are having their next meeting on Thursday October 18th at 10:30 am at the home of Sue d’arcy. Her address is 35 Lakeview Circle, Conquerall Mills.  We are currently reading This Side of Heaven by Karen Kingsbury.

A Volunteer Appreciation night will be held at the church Saturday, October 20th at 6:30pm in honour of all those who have worked and are currently working with our children and youth. We want to celebrate you! Please join us for an evening of fellowship and fun.

An Evening of Song and Stories with international musician and storyteller, Dave Carroll at Bridgewater United Church at 7:00 pm on Saturday, October 20th. There will be an intermission and Refreshments. Tickets are $25.00 and are available in Bridgewater at Bridgewater United Church, Pharmasave and Buck’s Home Building Centre as well as Kinburn Pharmasave in Mahone Bay and Pharmachoice Kinley Drug Co in Lunenburg.

Keenager’s Luncheon – October 27th at 12:00 pm at Drumlin Hills. This month’s Speaker is Lynn Martin and music is being provided by Agnes Clinton. Cost is $10.50 and the sign-up sheet is in the foyer.

South Shore Chorale presents: another season’s promise, sounds of the maritime spirit. Saturday, Oct 27th at Wesley United Church, Petite Riviere at 7:00 pm and Sunday, Oct 28th at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bridgewater at 3:00 pm.  Featuring songs by Stan Rogers and guest performers, Steve Keith and Jude Pelley. Bryan Riddle (St John’s Ambulance Instructor) will conduct an EMERGENCY FIRST AID COURSE on Saturday November 10, 2018 at the church.  This all day course will prepare people to deal with emergency situations and will teach CPR. This course is recommended for everyone. If you are interested in taking the course, please put your name on the sign-up sheet at the Information Centre in the foyer. The course will start at 8:30 am and finish by 4:30. Please bring your lunch. There is a fee of $35 to cover the cost of supplies and books.
